Our story

Kevin and Tabitha met in chemistry class at Culpeper County High School. They both attended Germanna Community College before transferring to George Mason University. It was during his first semester at George Mason that Kevin knew his life was supposed to be headed in a different direction. He went into Youth Ministry for nine years, then transitioned as a Youth Alive Missionary for the Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and D.C. area. After six years of traveling as Youth Alive Missionaries, Kevin and Tabitha felt the desire to start a church in the Culpeper, VA area.  With Culpeper being one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Virginia, and  with a portion of the launch team coming from Fauquier County, they decided upon  Remington, VA as kind of a halfway point to become the home for a new church. Therefore, they shared the idea with some friends, took a step of faith and started The Journey Church in the fall of 2011. Kevin and Tabitha are the parents of Jordan and Jaden.

The church began meeting in November 2011 and had their official launch on Easter 2012.
