MEDIA AND WORSHIP MINISTRY

Our Media and Worship Team at Journey Church is a dynamic group dedicated to creating meaningful worship experiences. Through music, sound, visuals, and technology, we strive to create an atmosphere where people can connect with God deeply. As a member of this team, you play a crucial role in leading our congregation in worship and ensuring that our services are both engaging and spiritually enriching. Journey media and worship Volunteer Roles

There are several avenues under the umbrella of the Media and Worship Ministry in which we'd love to have you volunteer. These include:

  • Purpose of Position (Your WIN)– The Media Team will be responsible for setting up, running, and tearing down all media equipment used for the purpose of slide projection and livestreaming.

     

    Time Commitment – Approximately 3 hours per scheduled week

    (8:30a-11:30a on Sunday mornings)

     

    Length of Commitment – Alternating schedule month-to-month based upon availability.

     

    Description – The Media Team member will enter a rotation of people who will be responsible for managing the media equipment and their operation on Sundays. The equipment includes that which is used for projecting slides during service as well as the livestream equipment and the media laptop. Scheduling will be done in advance in accordance with your availability using Planning Center where you can accept and decline service dates as well as add black-out dates for the future.

     

    Expectations

    • Dedication to learning proper use of media equipment with adequate training.
    • Arriving at 8:30am on Sundays to complete the setup of all media equipment prior to service.
    • Testing/calibrating equipment prior to service start at 10am.
    • Dedication to giving full attention to running and monitoring the slides and livestream during the service.
    • Staying after service to tear down equipment starting 10 minutes after service ends (usually finished around 11:30a).
    • Willingness to take instruction from media director.
    • Timely communication with media director regarding absence.
    • Assist wherever needed as a part of the collective team.

     

    Skills Needed

    • Basic computer literacy required
    • Some physical ability needed
    • Ability to adapt to last minute changes
    • Ability to laugh and have fun
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask
  • Purpose of Position (Your WIN) – The Sound Team will be responsible for setting up, running, and tearing down all sound equipment used prior to and during service.

     

    Time Commitment – Approximately 3 hours per scheduled week

    (8:00a-11:30a on Sunday mornings)

     

    Length of Commitment – Alternating schedule month-to-month based upon availability.

     

    Description – The Sound Team member will enter a rotation of people who will be responsible for managing the sound equipment and their operation on Sundays. The equipment includes the sound board, connecting cables, and speakers. Scheduling will be done in advance in accordance with your availability using Planning Center where you can accept and decline service dates as well as add black-out dates for the future.

     

    Expectations

    • Dedication to learning proper use of sound equipment with adequate training.
    • Arriving at 8:00am on Sundays to complete the setup of all sound equipment prior to worship practice.
    • Testing/calibrating equipment prior to worship practice starting at 9am.
    • Dedication to giving full attention to monitoring the sound during the service.
    • Staying after service to tear down equipment starting 10 minutes after service ends (usually finished around 11:30a).
    • Willingness to take instruction from staff.
    • Timely communication with sound director regarding absence.
    • Assist wherever needed as a part of the collective team.

     

    Skills Needed

    • Some physical ability needed.
    • Ability to adapt to last minute changes.
    • Ability to laugh and have fun.
    • Musically inclined
    • Some technical understanding
    • Attention to detail.
  • Purpose of Position (Your WIN)  A worship team musician will be responsible to help facilitate worship through playing alongside the worship pastor for Sunday morning services. 

     

    Time Commitment – Approximately 3-4 hours per scheduled week

    (8a-11:45a on Sunday mornings) 

     

    Length of Commitment – Alternating schedule month-to-month based upon availability.  

     

    Description – A worship team musician will enter a rotation of people who will be responsible for helping to facilitate worship through playing alongside the worship pastor. Scheduling will be done in advance in accordance with your availability using Planning Center where you can accept and decline service dates as well as add black-out dates for the future. 

     

    Expectations –  

    •        Willingness to take instruction from worship pastor. 
    •        Willingness to listen, familiarize and practice worship songs a week prior to Sunday morning after songs are sent out via Planning Center by worship pastor.  
    •        Willingness to listen and adapt with worship pastor & other musicians. 
    •        Timely communication with worship pastor regarding absence. 
    •        Assist wherever needed as a part of the collective team. 

     

    Skills Needed –  

    •        Musically inclined. 
    •        Ability to follow chord charts and basic knowledge of worship music (we use click & backing tracks).  
    •        Some physical ability needed. 
    •        Ability to adapt to last minute changes. 
    •        Ability to laugh and have fun. 





  • Purpose of Position  (Your WIN) A worship team vocalist will be responsible to help facilitate worship through singing alongside the worship pastor for Sunday morning services. 

     

    Time Commitment – Approximately 2-3 hours per scheduled week

    (9a-11:45a on Sunday mornings) 

     

    Length of Commitment – Alternating schedule month-to-month based upon availability.  

     

    Description – A worship team vocalist will enter a rotation of people who will be responsible for helping to facilitate worship through singing alongside the worship pastor. Scheduling will be done in advance in accordance with your availability using Planning Center where you can accept and decline service dates as well as add black-out dates for the future. 

     

    Expectations –  

    •        Has a passion and love for worship. 
    •        Arriving at 9am on Sundays to be ready to practice with the team once setup is complete.  
    •        Staying after service to tear down band equipment starting 10 minutes after service ends (usually finished around 11:45a). 
    •        Willingness to take instruction from worship pastor. 
    •        Willingness to listen, familiarize and practice worship songs a week prior to Sunday morning after songs are sent out via Planning Center by worship pastor.  
    •        Willingness to listen and adapt with other vocalists. 
    •        Timely communication with worship pastor regarding absence. 
    •        Assist wherever needed as a part of the collective team. 

     

    Skills Needed –  

    •        Musically inclined (ability to sing harmonies is preferred). 
    •        Confidence to sing in front of people.  
    •        Ability to blend alongside other vocalists and follow worship pastor throughout worship service.  
    •        Ability to adapt to last minute changes. 
    •        Ability to laugh and have fun.

To note: Any roles within the Kid's Ministry or Security Team require background checks which would be completed after discussion with the team leader and the commitment to the role.
